THE STORY OF A CAT AND A TULIP has been nominated for the Gianni Rodari Award (Premio Rodari) in Italy among many other outstanding titles.
Written by Evelina Daciutė and illustrated by Aušra Kiudulaitė, this sensitive picture book was originally published in Lithuania by Alma littera and translated into Italian by Toma Gudelytė.
An unexpected friendship between a tulip and a cat named Rumtumtugger blossoms into a heartfelt story. Their bond fills Rumtumtugger’s life with joy, but as the seasons change, the tulip begins to wither, bringing the feeling of goodbye. This colourful and philosophical tale explores love, devotion, and loss.
The Premio Rodari is a prestigious Italian award celebrating outstanding works of children’s literature inspired by the spirit and values of Gianni Rodari. The award is presented during the annual Rodari Festival, held in the town of Omegna, Rodari’s birthplace, and dedicated to storytelling, imagination, and children’s culture.
The nomination marks another important recognition for this acclaimed title and we are keeping our fingers crossed for its further success.
