We are delighted to share that the results of the Lithuanian Culture Institute’s Translation Grant Funding Competition have been announced, with a number of titles from the Book Smugglers Agency's catalogue selected among the supported projects.
The Lithuanian Culture Institute’s Programme for funding projects to promote translations of Lithuanian literature supports the translation and publication of Lithuanian books abroad, helping hundreds of titles reach readers around the world.
The spring 2026 funding call reflects the growing international interest in Lithuanian literature, with applications submitted by publishers from a wide geographical range, including countries across Latin America, Europe, Asia, and beyond, from Chile, Peru, and Argentina to Egypt, Mongolia, India, and Sri Lanka.
“We are very happy to see Lithuanian literature reaching new territories and opening new horizons, with some books finding their way into languages and markets where they have never been available before. Through our work and growing international presence, we are constantly looking for new opportunities to introduce publishers around the world to Lithuanian authors and their stories. It is wonderful to see these connections turn into real translation projects, supported by the Lithuanian Culture Institute, and to be part of a journey that brings Lithuanian literature to more corners of the world,” says Benas Berantas, founder and agent at Book Smugglers Agency.
